The waves crochet baby blanket is one of the easiest blanket pattern in this blog. The waves are created by working two rows in different colours.

No decreases or increases needed just double crochet and single crochet stitches, which makes it a great project for the beginner/intermediate crocheter.

I added the mustard colour for a dramatic effect but you are free to use different colours as you please!.

Yarn: Hayfield Bronze Chunky, 100% acrylic yarn, 100g, Butterfly Chunky 100g, 100% acrylic 1 ball grey and 2 balls navy blue

Hook: 6.00mm

Step by Step instructions for making the waves crochet baby blanket

with Navy blue

ch 80

R1: sc in 2nd ch, *sk 2 ch, in nxt ch work 5dc, sk 2 ch, sc*, rep from * to * ending with sc, ch 3 (counts as dc), turn

R2: 2dc into sc, *sk 2 dc, into the next dc (this is the middle of the 5 dcs) work sc, sk next 2dc, into sc work 5 dc* rep from * to * ending with 3 dc in the last st, ch1, turn,

change to Grey yarn

R3: sc, *sk 2dc, 5dc into nxt dc, sk 2 dc, sc* rep from * to * ending with an sc, ch3, turn

Rep R2 and R3

continue working row 1 and 2 as you change colour as follows:

Edging

Using navy blue, work sc around and 3 sc in every corner.
