I named this blanket the cool ridges crochet blanket because the texture reminds me of ridges or mountain landscapes in my village. This is one of my favourite blanket patterns. I must admit! The texture created is just stunning!
Considering it is made with a combination of sc and dc, it creates a texture that deceptively looks complicated.
I am so excited to share this pattern with you.
Materials
Yarn: Stylecraft Special DK, 100g Cream and Maroon, Hayfield Grampian DK 50g 45% Acrylic, 40% Bri nylon, 15% Wool
Hook: 5.5mm
Scissors
Tapestry Needle
Gauge: 15 st X 11 rows = 4 inches square
Notes
This pattern is a reversible pattern
It works in multiples of 3 + 2
To modify it, feel free to use your own colour combinations, cast more or less to make it bigger or smaller respectively.
Stitches + Abbreviations
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
sk – skip
Instructions to make the cool ridges crochet blanket
This pattern works in multiples of 3 + 2
ch 92
R1: in 2nd ch (sc, 2dc) sk 2ch, * in nxt ch (sc, 2dc) sk nxt 2 st* rep till end of row. In last ch, work sc, ch 1, turn
R2: in 1st ch (sc, 2dc), sk nxt 2 dc * sk next 2dc * in next sc work (sc, 2dc) sk next 2dc * rep from * till end of row, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn
Repeat R2 till blanket measures
Edging
Using cream, work one more row, and at the end work (sc, 2dc) twice. This will look as shown below. Continue along at the side and at each end corner work (sc, 2dc) twice.
Weave in ends.
