Scrap Yarn/Left over Yarn Crochet Coaster – Free Pattern
I moved into a new house and yes I was excited! However, I did not want to buy everything (especially kitchen items), Surely not as a crocheter! So I did what crafters do best: Create!.
Digging into my yarn stash I found this leftover yarn and thought this would make a great coaster. I love the variegated yarn because of colour plays out. I think I am pleased with the result. What do you think?
This coaster is made in two steps
- Work chains
- Crochet using the chained yarn, this not only creates a thick fabric but a gorgeous texture effect.
Use stitch markers where necessary
Materials
Yarn: King Cole Fjord DK Yarn Acrylic Laberg 4552, or any left over yarn
Hook: 5mm

Abbreviations
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
Instructions
Chain 1500 (don’t mind if you lose count)
It is easier to chain about 500 then start crocheting the first round and then keep adding chains then crocheting as you go, that way you do not have to keep track of the number of chains.
Ch 3, sl st join to form a circle
