Easy Beginner Knit Cowl Pattern (I)

This Easy Beginner Knit Cowl pattern is a part of three designs that I thought would be great to improve your knitting skills. These cowls vary in size and you can customise them, once you get the hang of it.

chunky knit cowl

As a beginner knitter, one thing you will find very rewarding is being able to design your own wardrobe! Nothing beats the feeling of wearing something you made.

Made in chunky yarn, used double stranded, this cowl whips up quickly, thus making the joy of completion close.

This project is knit flat (rows knit back and forth, rather than in rounds) then the ends sown together to form the cowl. It uses the stockinette stitch (where front side is knit and the wrong side is purl), which is very easy to learn. The stockinette stitch usually abbreviated as St st is also known as the stocking stitch.
