Oh Sunshine! Baby Blanket Free Crochet Pattern
This Oh Sunshine! baby blanket free crochet pattern is easy and cute which is idea for the beginner. It also uses few stitches and is easily customisable to fit your needs
I was inspired by the bright colours to crochet this baby blanket because I believe babies bring so much joy to their lives of their parents.
Decorating a nursery with bright colours, evoke joy and cheer and I wanted a blanket that would be fit for such a nursery. It knits up quickly making it a perfect last minute gift for an expecting mother.

Notes
This is a simple design suitable for the beginner who wants to stretch themselves but not yet bold enough to make a huge blanket.
The blanket is designed with acrylic yarn that’s affordable, machine washable and can be tumble dried.
Supplies needed to crochet baby blanket
- Yarn: King Cole ultra soft chunky 100g – 1 ball in white and 1 Ball (substitute) King Cole ultra soft chunky yarn in yellow.
- I got this (yellow) ball without the label and thus here I suggest a substitute
- Hook: 6mm
- Gauge: 4” square= 6 v st across and 11 rows
This yarn is machine washable, and affordable. They combine well to form stripes.
I wanted to form a piece that forms stripes with each row worked in one colour only once, the result was this dynamic
- To change colour, work with colour A/B till last sc, pull through last two loops of sc with Colour B/A
- At the end of the row, (when needed, see pictures) instead of turning, go to the beginning of the row and pick yarn from below
make your desired size, chain as to desired length but please note that this pattern works in multiples of 3.
