We’ll make a one skein crochet scarf in today’s blog post.

Pin for later

This is a quick and easy project that will teach you how you can combine different stitches to create a gorgeous scarf.

One skein crochet scarf also means it is affordable.

I chose this colour as it is lovely and unisex. The yarn is also soft and drapes well around the neck.

This scarf has three unique stitches: bobble, front post double crochet and the slant dc to create an amazing texture.

Materials Needed

Yarn: One skein of Patons Fab DK, 100g, approx 274m, 100% acrylic, colour 02312

Hook: 6.5mm

Scissors

tapestry needle

Notes

Level: Intermediate

Measurement: 5.5 inches wide x 48 inches long

you can make it wider by adding more dc stitches to both ends. Make it longer by working more rows until you run out yarn. At 48 inches long, I was content with the length of the scarf and I had some left over yarn.

Abbreviations and Stitches

ch- chain

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

Fpdc – front post double crochet. This is a slightly different dc. yarn over, insert hook around to the dc below, yarn over and pul through the dc, 3 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through two, two stitches left, yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops on the hook.

Bobble – This is an easy stitch worked as follows. Into the specified stitch, *yarn over, insert hook into st, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through two loops* rep from * until you have 5 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through all the 5 loops on hook, ch 1.

Slant dc – works with four stitches. start by skipping the specified stitch, work 3 dc and then work a dc into the skipped stitch. This results in an elongated dc that is slanting as shown below.
