I love this crochet top because it is a reversible top with a cute texture created by the effect of the front and post double crochet stitches.
To create the stripes, two rows of the pattern are worked in each colour. Single colour can be used as well.
I recommend crocheting loosely as the fpdc does create a bit of pull on the fabric. Consider a larger hook if you tend to crochet tightly.

Front post double crochet (fpdc): yarn over, insert hook from front to back around the dc below and pull up loop, yarn over pull through two loops, yarn over pull through remainder two loops

Step by Step Instructions to make a crochet top
This pattern works in multiples of 6 +1
Front and Back (make 2)
With Blue
ch 49 (55, 61, 67, 73)
R1: work shell in 6th ch (counts as dc, and 2 skipped chains) * sk 2 cd, dc, sk 2, shell * rep from * till the end of the row. Ch 2, turn
With light blue
R2: * fpdc into dc below, into ch 1 sp of shell, work a shell * rep from * till end of row, ch 2 turn
R3: * bpdc into fpdc st, work shell int ch 1 sp of shell below * repeat till end of row
continue working changing colour every two rows
Rep R2 and R3 till R23
Armhole
Holding the two seams together, seam two sides together, leave 8 (8, 9, 10, 11) inches for the armhole.
With blue, work one round of sc around the armhole opening as shown in the image below.
Weave in ends.
