One of the cutest easy crochet mini basket free patterns, out there, in my opinion definitely :).
Just as the title suggests, this projects is a quick and easy project. Quick because it is made up of around 18 rounds.
Easy because it uses the single and double crochet stitches.
The basket is crocheted tightly because we want a sturdy item. To do this, I normally use two strands and a smaller hook size than required.
This results in a tight fabric. Another way of achieving this is to use ‘smaller’ stitches such as the single crochet as compared to the double or treble stitch.
Materials
- Yarn: Stylecraft Special DK, 100g ball of Stone (DK 1710) and Buttermilk (DK 1835) 100% acrylic and anti pilling.
- Hook: 5.5mm
- Measurements: Circumference: 4.2inches, height: 4.5 inches tall
Notes
This basket is made using two strands of each yarn. This creates a variegated yarn effect. Which adds to the beauty of the basket.
To make the basket wider add more rounds before working the slip stitch round.
Using a smaller hook creates a tight fabric which helps the basket hold its shape and also improves its functionality.
Crochet tightly. You don’t want a basket that doesn’t hold shape.
This stitch pattern is reversible. I think the inside is so pretty! It has a slightly different texture.
